FAMILY HOLIDAY

A HOLIDAY THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN ENJOY

Join us for a unique sailing and family holiday experience

Over the last couple of years, many of you have shared the challenges you face of balancing your love for sailing with family commitments, especially when your partner or family do not sail.

Sigrid and I are fortunate as we both sail and enjoy sailing together but we totally understand your dilemma.

That is why White Tip Sailing and our Race Academy White Tip Race Academy are excited to introduce a new concept in 2025:

A week of sailing combined with a family holiday. We have listened to your feedback and crafted a solution that allows you to both enjoy sailing whilst also spending quality time with your family:

In 2025 we are offering 2 special test weeks during which we organise:

  • Sailing for you at a rate that allows you to see your family during the day
  • A special holiday for your partner or family.

During these weeks, the sailing sessions will be shorter than usual to ensure that you have plenty of time to connect with your family.

WEEK ONE: isle of wight WEEK

Isle of Wight, South of England

9-15 June 2025

We will do 5 days of training followed by 2 days of JOG races.

https://www.jog.org.uk/#

https://www.isleofwight.com

Monday through to Friday, we will start training at 10:30 and finish at 15:00.

That still gives you plenty of time to sail but also gives you quality time every day with your loved one and or family.

On Saturday we will do the Cowes to Yarmouth JOG regatta, course 35nm.

On Sunday we will do the Yarmouth to Cowes JOG regatta, course 20nm.

Yarmouth is only 12.5 miles/20 kilometres away from Cowes by road.

For those in your party who stay ashore, the Isle of Wight has many activities and places to visit, and we will provide you with a full list of activities or sites to choose from.

In addition, the Isle of Wight is a short ferry ride to Southampton or hovercraft & ferry journey to Portsmouth.

WEEK TWO

Dartmouth, Southwest of England

25-31 August 2025

DARTHMOUTH WEEK

Week in Dartmouth is the week of the famous Dartmouth Royal Regatta week

Dartmouth is one of the prettiest towns in the Southwest of England.

Together we will plan with you whether you want to arrive on Sunday or Monday.

Monday is a family day with no racing.

Racing starts on Tuesday with the Passage Race from Brixham to Dartmouth.

The first start is around 13:30 and the time limit to finish the race is 18:00 although we expect to be in Dartmouth well before that.

Wednesday to Saturday there are daily regattas. The first race always starts at or after 10:30. The courses are short and when several regattas take place in a day, the following race starts as soon as the last boat has crossed the finishing line. We then come back to port mid-afternoon.

Scheduled races per day:

Wednesday Thursday & Friday Saturday Bay race*
3 3 2 1

*Bay Race: Either on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, boats may sail a longer coastal race (The Bay Race). On that day they will sail one race only.

For those staying ashore as well as once you are back in Dartmouth, the town is full of activities. We will provide you with a complete list of sites to visit and activities to consider.
